PS. Get some rest

I can practically taste Christmas. The school’s hallways and classroom doors are all decorated in accordance with the holidays and all its joy. Our school just hosted its annual Needy Family drive and it was a smashing success! The entire school was a part of it, and I’d like to think we were all icons of what it means to be in the Christmas spirit.

We are currently in the process of wrapping up our finals, and by the time this blog is posted it is possible I already got my report card. I just found out that when we return next semester, students from the other campus in our district will join us to finish the year as “Coyotes” (our school mascot). That means I will see friends that I haven’t seen in two years. Long time ago there was only one high school, but they built another one and we all got separated. I’m extremely anxious to see all my friends again.

I am also glad that I will finally get some rest. No stress for a couple of weeks, and definitely lots of food! My family always has many plans for my December vacations and I’m sure this year’s no different. Bright lights and trees filled with ornaments can be spotted in my family members’ houses, and I can practically already see the presents under the trees.

The only thing that has been bothering me lately is the doctor and his insistence that should not dance (for now). I feel the urge to disobey him and do what my heart tells me to do. It kills me being only a spectator. Perhaps next semester I can warm up with my team again, but I can’t be exactly sure.

I hope everybody enjoys their vacation, remembering everyday to cherish the people around you. Me? I will miss my friends, but I know I’ll see them again soon.

A couple of days ago, I received a Christmas card from one of my teachers, saying she enjoyed our class, and that she had a large amount of faith in our futures, at the bottom she wrote, “Merry Christmas”. And as if she had read my mind she added a “PS. Get some rest.” I smiled to myself. Of course I will.

“Happy holidays” everybody!
