All that-and then some
Memories are nestled in my pocket, as my year continues to move forward. Every step taken is significant and I am aware that now is when I can’t falter. Many things are rushing my way and yet I am persistent in holding on to the “right now”.
Every single entry reminds me of the importance of school. This time around is no different. It has been of upmost priority, the most essential of all experiences, to maintain my aspiration of a high-level education. The progress I have made thus far, concerning study habits, writing techniques (i.e. MLA, APA), and of course prioritizing, is enough to fill a blog. However, I can honestly admit that every ounce of stress, the hours of sleep that I now lack, and the countless pens that no longer have ink, are all worth it; and yet, I am still months away from my graduation.
“Attention seniors: GPA and rank will be affected by all grades up to the last six weeks”! The pink paper passed out to all seniors brought relief to some, sighs and groans others. I didn’t take this as a threat, as many of my classmates did; I found no harm in pushing us a little bit more. This also meant however, that higher amounts of seriousness were to be expected; they were making sure that our early college experiences would remain intact long enough.
The yearbook is being wrapped up, and excitement trickles throughout the classroom. We are all so excited to see the fruits of our labor. The Howler’s most recent edition has just been published and delivered. The crispy newspaper never looked better.
Government and Speech mid-terms are done with and at the English class we are reading Wuthering Heights. Oh yeah, my year is on a roll!
Maintaining a clear head is a skill never been tested before until now, as the last days of the year experience the rollercoaster ride of all important events, all memorable moments, and the most crucial times to our educational experiences.
I’m on the greatest ride of all time. It’s all that and then some!
