What is my ACT ID and where do I find it?

If you register for and test on a national or international ACT Test Date in the United States, we will automatically assign you an ACT ID whether or not you provided your Social Security number when you registered. If you register and/or test at any other test location (e.g., State, Special, Arranged, Project, DANTES, or Residual), we only assign an ACT ID if you did not provide your SSN. The ACT ID is an eight-digit number beginning with a dash that is located at the top of your Student Report and also appears on the score reports we send to your high school and the colleges you selected.

The ACT ID helps us identify your record if you did not provide your SSN and allows you to access and order ACT services without having to provide your SSN. You can use your ACT ID to help us identify your record if you wish to send your scores, correct information on your score reports, and create a student Web account.

If you tested through State Testing in Spring 2008 or test through State Testing on any date after that, you will be able to view your scores about a week after you receive your score report in the mail. You need to create your student Web account first. You must provide your ACT ID to access your scores if you chose not to provide your SSN when you tested.

Beginning about mid-October 2008, if you test through Special Testing, you will also be able to view your scores online about a week after you receive your score report in the mail, but only if you created a student Web account. Either your ACT ID or SSN is needed to access your scores through this account.
