Why can't a college locate my ACT scores?

Make sure you have requested your scores be released to that college. The college codes you listed at registration are printed on your score report.

ACT normally mails reports within 4 to 8 weeks after the test date (5 to 8 weeks if you took the ACT Plus Writing). Please allow at least that long for a college or university to confirm receipt of your scores. If you tested outside the U.S. or Canada, allow an additional 1 to 2 weeks for receipt for your scores.

Colleges and universities determine how often they receive scores from ACT. In general, colleges receive scores at least every two weeks.

Provide the admissions office with your name and Social Security or ACT ID number and ask them to search with each. Keep in mind that after they receive scores, it may take extra time for the college/university/scholarship agency to process them.

Take NoteIf you did not provide your Social Security number at the time you registered or tested, an ACT ID number was assigned to your record. This number begins with a dash and is followed by eight digits—you can find it on your Student Report. Provide this number to the admissions office, along with your name.
