Can I change my test center, test date, or add/drop the Writing Test on test day?

Additional Fees Apply

Test center change $21
Test date change $42
Test date change fee ($21)
+ late fee ($21)
Total = $42
Add Writing Test
Writing Test fee ($15.50)
Remove Writing Test
You can request a $15.50 refund

If you miss the deadline for changing your registration, you may try to make the change on test day.*

Take your admission ticket to your preferred test center on your preferred test date. If space and materials are available after all students registered for that center on that date have been seated for their test option, you will be allowed to make the change.

If the changes you make require additional fees, ACT will bill you for these fees. Do not bring payment to the test center.

Take Note*  You must be registered to test on the current or on a future test date, or have an unused (did not test) past test date to make changes on test day. If space and materials are not available, you may choose to test as you are currently registered or you may leave and request a test date change for a later date.

How to locate test center/test option/test date information
Your assigned test center, test date, and test option—ACT (No Writing) or ACT Plus Writing—are listed on the left side of your admission ticket. If an asterisk (*) appears next to the test center code, none of your original choices were available. When this happens, ACT assigns you to the nearest test center, based on your original choices, with space available for your test option. We encourage you to test there.
