Is standby testing the same as a Test Date Change on the day of the test?
No. You may request standby testing if you are not registered for any test date. (Note: Creating your student Web account does NOT mean you are registered.) You request a test date change only when you already registered for a test date and received an admission ticket.
- If you have an unused registration because you missed a previous test date or you registered for a future test date and want to test on an earlier one, you can try to do a Test Date Change on the day of the test.
- Think carefully if you have an unused registration for a future test date. If you make a Test Date Change on test day, you will no longer be registered for that future test date.
- Standby testing allows you to submit a registration on test day.
Both options cost an additional $42, and you will be admitted to test only if there are seats, materials, and staff available after all students registered for that center on that date have been seated for their test option. If you are not sure which choice you are eligible for, call ACT Registration at 319/337-1270.
