Questions about Registering to Test

In a location other than the U.S., U.S. territories, Puerto Rico, or Canada

You must register on the Web. Do not contact the test center in advance to sign up. Create your free student Web account, then follow the instructions to register to test. When you are prompted to "Select Where to Test," select "in another country."

Not every country has established test centers, and not all test centers are scheduled for every test date. Before choosing your test date, view available test dates and centers by country. If there are no test centers in your country scheduled for any test date and there is not a center in another country within reasonable traveling distance, check the requirements for Arranged Testing.

What is my ACT ID and why is it important?

If you register for an ACT National or International Test Date, we will automatically assign you an ACT ID whether or not you provided your Social Security number (SSN) when you registered. If you test through any other testing program (e.g., State, Special, Arranged, DANTES, or Residual), we assign an ACT ID only if you did not provide your SSN. The ACT ID is an eight-digit number beginning with a dash that is located at the top of your Student Report and also appears on the score reports we send to the high school and colleges you requested.

The ACT ID helps us identify your record if you did not provide your SSN and allows you to access and order ACT services without having to provide your SSN. (For example, if you wish to send your scores, correct information on your score reports, or create a student Web account.)

If you test through State, Special, Arranged, or Dantes Testing, you can view your scores and score report online after you receive your score report in the mail. All you need to do is create or log in to your ACT Web account. You must provide the ACT ID printed on your score report to access your scores if you did not provide your SSN when you tested.
