Correcting Errors on Your ACT Score Reports
If, after you receive your score report, you find that you made a significant error in the information you supplied to us about yourself, or if you want to change your address or replace your ACT ID with your Social Security number, you may ask us to correct your record. Write to:

Write within three months of receiving your score report. Enclose a photocopy of your Student Report describing the error and the change you are requesting.
There is no fee for making the correction, but you must pay $11.00 for each corrected report you wish sent to a college, agency, or high school.
If you think there is an error (on any information other than your test scores), write to ACT Student Services—Score Reports at the above address within three months of receiving your score report. Enclose a copy of your Student Report describing the error and the change you are requesting.
If an error is our responsibility and requires you to retest, there will be no fee. If the error does not involve retesting, we will send corrected score reports, with no fee, to you, your high school, and to each recipient that received an incorrect report.
At your request, we will hand-score your multiple-choice answer document and/or rescore your Writing Test essay. (You may also request to be present for a hand-scoring of your multiple-choice answer document—without access to the test questions—at one of our regional offices, but additional fees will apply).
Requests for hand-scoring must be made within three months of receiving your score report. Submit your request in writing, including your name as given at the time of testing, ACT ID from your score report, date of birth, test date (month and year), and test center. Enclose a check payable to ACT for the applicable fee:
- $40.00 multiple-choice tests
- $40.00 Writing Test essay
- $80.00 both the multiple-choice tests and Writing Test essay
We will mail a letter to you with the results of the hand-scoring about three to five weeks after we receive your request. The letter will inform you whether the scores originally reported have been confirmed or not. If a scoring error is discovered, corrected reports will be sent to you and all previous score recipients without a fee. In addition, the hand-scoring fee will be refunded.
