Building Construction/Construction Science
Topics of Study
In this program, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the finishing, operation and maintenance of structures and the surrounding property. You will learn how to finish buildings, using masonry mixtures, and basic maintenance and repair for various building systems, including plumbing, air conditioning, electric, heat, and other major mechanical appliances. You will develop an understanding of the terminology for and design of blueprints and other written and graphic instructions. You will also study the building codes and regulations.
Degrees Available
- A certificate or associate degree is sufficient for work in maintenance or property management.
- A bachelor's degree may be required to manage larger properties.
