These specialty majors focus on a specific aspect of area, ethnic and cultural studies not listed elsewhere, such as comparative cultures, world arts and cultures, western civilization, and third world studies. For these majors you will take some general courses in the field of area, ethnic and cultural studies and a number of highly specialized courses in a specific subject area.
Degrees Available
- A bachelor's degree is often required to enter occupations related to these majors, such as archaeologist, anthropologist, sociologist, consultant, translator, foreign exchange trader, or foreign service officer.
- A graduate degree is usually required for advancement into administrative positions in business or in the field of higher education.
