Topics of Study

In this program, you will learn to design, develop, and evaluate structural, load-bearing, material moving, transportation, water resource, and material control systems in structures, like buildings, and bridges. This includes majors in geotechnical, structural, water resources, and transportation engineering. You will concentrate on mathematics, basic science, and basic engineering science courses, and then specialize in courses related to civil engineering. You will then learn about structural and systems design and about project planning and procedures.

Degrees Available

• A bachelor's degree is sufficient for entry-level civil engineering jobs.
• An advanced degree is required for most jobs, such as in research, engineering management, or teaching in higher education.
