In this program, you will learn mathematical and natural scientific principles and develop technical skills to assist engineers who develop and use air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems. You will learn the principles of heating and cooling technology, design and operational testing, inspection and maintenance procedures, installation and operational procedures, and report preparation. You will study mathematics, sciences, and basic engineering.

- A certificate or associate degree in heating and air conditioning will qualify for entry-level technician positions.
- A bachelor's degree provides more understanding of the technologies used.
- A graduate degree is needed for research or teaching positions.
