Topics of Study
In this program, you will focus on the Christian and/or Jewish Bible and related scriptural and historical languages and literatures; the culture, history, traditions, and geography of Jewish and Christian cultures at the time the Bible was written; and the theological, doctrinal, and ethical messages of the Bible and how they affect societies, past and present. You will study how languages communicate the doctrine and rites of worship. Instruction includes translation techniques, analysis and criticism, preservation of old manuscripts, and study of ancient languages.
Degrees Available
- A certificate or associate's degree may qualify to teach Bible studies in a church-related program.
- A graduate degree is required to work for large religious organizations or as an educational administrator.
- A doctoral degree is required to teach in college.
