Topics of Study
In this program, you will learn how to repair, service, and maintain aircraft components and powerplants. This includes instruction in layout and fabrication of sheet metal, fabric, wood, and other materials in the structure of aircraft; engine inspection and maintenance, electrical and ignition systems, carburetion, fuels and fuel systems, and propeller and fan assemblies. You will learn how to repair and replace damaged or worn parts such as control cables and hydraulic units. This program includes classroom instruction and practical application in aircraft repair.
Degrees Available
- A certificate or associate degree program will qualify to service and repair aircraft airframes and powerplants.
- Graduates of this major might work in various settings in business and industry or for themselves in small and medium-sized shops.
