Topics of Study
In this program, you will focus on aesthetics, techniques and creative processes to design and fashion objects in handcraft or folk art traditions. You will study liberal arts courses, such as sociology, psychology, history, and science. You will spend many hours in a studio to practice techniques of your craft, and create objects of art to be analyzed and critiqued by your professors. Through this process you will focus your creativity, learn what is pleasing to your audience, and enhance your artistic ability.
Degrees Available
- A bachelor's degree provides training in a large number of art forms.
- Graduates may work as artisans, teach in crafts programs, buy and sell folk art, crafts, or craft supplies, or work with galleries to present artistic works.
